Since last time, I've been trying to learn how to use IMovie? while contemplating the type of film I would create. First of all, I realized that the software allows direct upload of a film or clip from only a live video camcorder. With my photo camera, I was unable to upload the film directly. I was also unable to record clips while the software is open. Eventually, I had to use IPhoto? to upload the clips and pictures from my camera to the computer.
I have noticed that the software involves a lot of dragging. There is a main timeline at the bottom of the window where the user can drag clips, photos, audio, transitions, and effects. It's basically the arena where you can play with your movie. Once the clips or pictures are dragged into the timeline, I can split them or shorten the display of them. In the transition section, we can add various transitions by dragging them in between the clips on the timeline. We could also do the same for audio. The audio item will appear under the clip and if the clip came with sound, both the sound and the audio will be heard simultaneously. To fix this, I realized I only had to simply uncheck the speaker symbol next to the audio item! (I was frustrated with this for a while)
After playing with the software, I realized that it is possible for me to create a cool movie showing the effects of time travel. However, I think it is better if I had written the short story first so that I can make it into a movie. The drawing will be postponed for now until I finish the story.
